+alex Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 Hi All, I will be visiting NZ for the International Map Trade Association conference in Wellington next week and then taking a weeks holiday touring around North Island. I won't be able to spend the whole time geocaching as, unfortunately, my partner has a limited tolerance for our game- small doses are OK, but not too much. Therefore I am seeking your recommendations for the top ten tourist caches. You know, the ones that I should really try to bag in a limited time. Our travel plans are fairly flexible but certainly include Taupo, Rotorua, Waitomo, probably Auckland but probably not Bay of Islands. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks Alex Quote
+tgsnoopy Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 Ok, really easy ones I could reccomend would be: The Huka Falls Kerosine Creek Death In Vegas Okere Falls Arapuni Power Rotoroa Aukland Stash Red Box II zuhe gongju clacker If you wife could handle a nice wander in a nice area, consider: Lake view Clean green wonderland - Ngongataha Te Waihou walk Apologies to any caches I missed, this was a qick thought, and I reserve the right to modify the list Quote
+BigNick Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 Don't forget to check out Nandors maps of New Zealand caches. Might help to plan the route. Cheers Nick. Quote
+spudgun and Pam Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 If you're heading towards Tauranga your partner might like to look around the old quarry web page There are a few photos on the page to check out. Good luck and enjoy your visit. Quote
