Odd TB situation

Hi everyone

3 years ago I lost a TB on my travels. I posted a note on the TB page about it but it is still tracked to me and shows up on my trackable list.

7 months after I lost it another geocacher write a note claiming they had found it and would clean it up and keep it traveling. However since then there has been silence.  I have reached out to this geocacher twice to see what they did about it but have had no reply and it is still showing on my trackable a page.
What can be done about this? Can it be removed off my list by HQ or is it doomed to stay there forever even though another cachet claimed to have found it (but never logged it as found).

help?

thanks

HQ can remove it from your list.  But a better plan is to contact the TB Owner directly (Message Center may be OK) and explain the situation.  The TO can then decide how to manage the TB.

Thanks. The TB owner hasn’t been active for many years so seems like this maybe the only hope.

Your situation is not so odd - things happen!  A couple of years ago I left a bag containing several trackables on the trunk of my car as I drove off.  It wasn't till I was miles away, in another state, that I realized what I had done.  One was a very nice, large, FTF geocoin of my own that I had won at an event - the others were ones I was carrying to move around and drop off as I traveled.

I emailed/messaged all the TO's, explaining what had happened.  I put all those TB's on my watchlist.  The TO's either did not respond, or were very gracious in excusing my carelessness in losing their bugs!  To this day, all of those bugs are still in my inventory, still on my watchlist, and I'm waiting to see if they ever show up someplace.  I can mark my own as missing, but the TO's of the others need to mark them as missing or just wait for them to show up.  I did not write a note on the TB pages - I suppose I could do that since they are showing in my inventory.  But I'm just hoping they show up somewhere, somehow.

Best you can do is write a note on the TB page.  Or if you have a cache you can log it into that cache and then log it missing.  That will take it out of your inventory, and then if it is found the cacher can still retrieve it and it will go into their inventory.

Cool, there's a lot of info that reveals the TB Owner, despite the seller concealing the information.  Sure, don't show a Tracking Code, but why cover up the owner's name?  :anicute:

If anyone sees my TBs for sale, let me know.  I want to know the asking price (or how much they sell for).  I'd actually prefer to sell my TBs myself.  :anibad:

One of the few promotion trackables the other 2/3rds was interested in was that Michelin man tire gauge.  She was imagining a ton of pics.

We didn't get one, but a few weeks after the promotion a couple dozen were on ebay.

 - Why HQ's sure to have that "place within two weeks" thing now I bet...
