Iphone or android for adventure labs?

I'm going to be getting a new phone and it's important to me to have good adventure lab experience.

My current Android  map displays the adventure lab icon where there are adventure labs (when looking just at the geocaching map) , but I've got an old iphone that does not.

In other words, when I'm looking at the regular geocaching.com map on my very old iphone I can't see the icons for the adventure labs. I think this is just because my iphone is so old, but wanted to make sure before I got a new phone. This will help me decide which to get.

Please also let me know any other reasons the adventure labs work on one vs the other.

Thank you!

My family uses both ios and Android for ALs and have not noticed anything different.

Maybe the Geocaching App was an older version?

On my iPhone 8, the street routing for an AL was Apple or Google Maps.  I was not offered Waze, which I prefer, because Maps often cannot route near an off-road point, when Waze can.  On my new Samsung S22, not only is Waze listed as an AL street routing App, but Locus Maps (a map App with full Geocaching functions) and Spyglass (a crow-flies compass) are listed, as well as Google Maps and Earth.  I tended to search for nearby caches (and the Bonus cache) while doing an AL, so other connected Apps were important and helpful to me.

If you prefer iphone and have suitable Apps already, either iphone or Droid should be fine.  They just work differently.
