+Couparangus
I found CGVD28 at N43 53 13.6 W79 44 57.4 It looks like a backhoe clobbered it. Just thought I'd mention that 'cuz I can't log it to the site. My search for ancient monuments (pre WW-I survey markers) has not been successful though. Cheers! Coupar-Angus Quote Link to comment

BullZie
Seeing as this thread has taken a serious turn for the loonie bin, I figured that it would be useful if someone other than the topic starter posted a comment. So, C-A why don't you share those pictures with us. Or should we prep the padded room for occupancy? Bullzie Quote Link to comment

twoloosescrews
That is very cool! Anywhere a guy can get a list of where Can. b/m are located? +Hard Oiler
You can find them at: http://www.geod.nrcan.gc.ca/index_e/products_e/passiveNetworks_e/trad_e/trad_e.html You need to apply for an id/password but it's free and comes instantly. Takes a bit of poking around to get what you're looking for but if you persist you can get lists of all benchmarks in your area plus details on each of them The details make interesting reading and some are pretty old - over 100 years. From a thread posted by Jeremy somewhere else, one of these days we'll be able to log them on the site. Meanwhile I'm starting to build up a collection as there are a lot more benchmarks round here than there are caches by a factor of about 100:1 Quote Link to comment
