+coast2coast2coast
MarinerBC asked if I was going to put together a Meeting in Courtney for all the Island GeoCachers and I joked about doing a Polar bear dip on Jan 01 03 then my mind raced at the possibilities ...I could set up a cache at a GREAT spot I know of we could come up with a time on New Years and all meet and bring in the new year at the same time with a Polar bear dip...What do you V Islanders think of this ???? I'll post this on the General site too Coast³ Quote Link to comment

SkydiverBC
We would need to have a BIG, BIG, BIG, Bonfire! Are we talking the ocean or the Puntledge? I have polar bear swimmed before and it can be tough to warm up again. Perhaps new years day would be better(warmer)? Isn't there a swim at the spit on new years? Then we could all find a pub (are they open new years?) and meet one another. I want to die like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car. +Solar Max
KEWL! The Mystery Cachers
Mariner - don't let us forget to pass on Tonto's Fox (you remember the travel bug that goes from event to event with the cacher who travelled the farthest - we beat you out by about 600 meters) before you head up to Courtenay. Also, the organizers should make sure everyone that comes has their home coordinates. Quote Link to comment
+Solar Max
Well, we did two polar bear swims on New Year's Day last year, Sooke and Elk Lake. So anything goes, we figure. You still thinking saltchuck, Coast, or are we doing some ice chipping? If I ain't sweatin', I ain't cachin. Are we there yet? Quote Link to comment
+Loonie Easter Bunnies
I have just seen the Christmas Cheer gathering in Victoria, which takes place sooner than New Years, so we'll be taking Tonto's Fox there instead and it will then be in another cacher's hands. Quote Link to comment
