Guest mmiller Posted August 13, 2001 Posted August 13, 2001 Greetings.. I was wondering if any of you knew a better way to search for caches in canada... geocaching.com, to the best of my knowledge only lets you search by state. So if you ant to find something to hunt up here you have to look through a list of all the canadian caches.. There has to be a better way? And how about tome topographical maps of the great white north on line? Thanks, Matt Quote
Guest Epal Posted August 14, 2001 Posted August 14, 2001 If you are searching for a particular area that doesn't have too many caches, you can use http://www.geocaching.com/map It works well in Atlantic Canada where its easy to see a new dot or a cache you haven't logged (if you are logged in to the site) Quote
Guest mazda626 Posted August 14, 2001 Posted August 14, 2001 You can also use the search by lat/long from your present position although I'm not sure how wide the search radius is. For online digital maps try http://toporama.cits.rncan.gc.ca/. These are low resolution but they are free (our tax dollars at work ) Quote

Guest Ttepee Posted August 14, 2001 Posted August 14, 2001 or Buxley's maps http://www.brillig.com/geocaching/canada.shtml Quote
Guest Olar Posted August 15, 2001 Posted August 15, 2001 It would be nice if Canadian caches were sorted by Province. On the other hand I still like to see the new placement activity in other provinces just as a matter of interest. What I do is check the list almost daily and any new for Ontario I download to EasyGPS immediately. On a daily or even weekly basis there aren't really that many so it doesn't take long particularly now that multiple caches can be downloaded in batch. Quote
