+LostTruckDriver
I'm a truck driver, and love geocaching. I'd like to hide more but the problem I'm having is when I try to hide at a truck stop or near a truck stop, a reviewer assumes I'm a vacationer. When I explain that I'm a truck driver they don't seem to really care and my cache is denied or archived. Any advice? Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
Are you sticking to your own state when you try to hide? You've found caches in a lot of states but maintaining your own means you need to be able to stop there when needed. There's one near me that places caches in PA and AZ. They might fly back n forth a few times in one month. Including a maintenance plan with your cache placement could show the Reviewer you're not planning on dump and forget. If you make weekly/biweekly/monthly stops to the hiding area in another state, be sure to say so in your Reviewer note. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
Another possibility is placement isn't allowed in the area you want. For example, in Virginia's Regional placement wiki, VDOT prohibits caches in rest areas they maintain. Quote Link to comment
+Trucker Lee
When I was OTR and dedicated I used to advise the reviewer that this was along a regular route, or I would contact a local hider to solicit maintenance help Now retired, let me know if you are coming through East Texas and have time to find a few. Parking available near me along I-20. Quote Link to comment
