+Team Pet-Rox
In an attempt to get geocaching established in this area, I'm creating a club. It was only a few weeks ago I found out about the sport, but I'd like to have some things in place for when the weather improves. I have a website setup at <http://www.lewisporteonline.com/lagc/> and would welcome any suggestions you more experienced geocachers might have for it, or the club. Thanks; Peter Peter Haliburton Haliburton Enterprises http://www.HalEnt.ca [This message was edited by J.P.Haliburton on March 26, 2002 at 07:22 AM.] Quote Link to comment
+Team Pet-Rox
In case you had problems before, the guestbook should now be working with all browsers. If you have a problem, let me know. xyzabc
hey, JP, I/m going to be heading out your way sometime this week. I also updated GC36A8 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=13992, so it now sould be easier to find, if you read the whole page, and take the hint with you. Good luck. +Team Pet-Rox
I invite you to join the Lewisporte club to make it easier to share information between us, and perhaps organize joint activities. Don't forget to sign up for the mailing list! Depending on how you are setting up, I'll also join the Gander club. One of my members is in ON, and another in St. John's. We are going to come up with ways to work together over the distance, like exchanging prizes or travel bugs. Open to suggestions here from everyone. I was scouting a location for another cache yesterday, but there were no good hiding spots in the area I wanted to put it. May have to wait for the snow to melt, and ground to dry, before putting more out. I didn't have to go to Gander this week after all, so may have to make a special club trip in to hunt for the ditch cache. Would prefer to have a couple to make it more worthwhile, so I encourage you to reactivate the Silent Witness cache soon. If the weather is ok, I'll go and check on the first LAGC cache today to ensure all is ok for your hunt. Peter For Wheres In A Name I'm looking for 57 42.542' (57 42' 32.5") Quote Link to comment
xyzabc
If you wanted to wait a few days before trying the Silent cache, I should have it back up then in a small beef pail. It's here in my room ready, just need to mark the info on it and go to the locale. Me and my dad are going for your cache today, hopefully we'll find it as it will be my first. xyzabc
Peter, I'm not going o be able to place those caches after all. I was at the hospital last night for about 3 hours, they drew blood, did a throat swab, and some other tests to find that I have strep throat (spelling correct?). So now I have to take tylenol and advil on 3 hour rotating intervals, and some sort of antibiotic that I have to take 3 times a day and with food. I don't know how long this garbage will last, but as soon as I feel better I'll go out and place those caches to give you something to come out here for. I would have e-mailed this to you, but my e-mail program is not functioning within specified parameters. +VO2WW
Hey, good to see some action on the rock!!! I filled out your membership form, lots of GPS units in this area but I don't know of any cachers, got a few interested, waiting for some searches or placings.
