Back on 8/23/2002 we placed a cache called BC 300 (More or Less) in response to the province growing to 300 caches. Today almost 9 months to the day, the 900th cache was placed. It's "Woodpecker" by Psycho (GCG51T)

Tripled the amount of caches in 9 months.... way to go. And welcome to all the new cachers.

Geocaching is gaining in popularity everywhere!! Although admittedly some areas are slow adopters. Iraq comes to mind here.

Since 23 Aug 02, there have been 417 caches placed on Vancouver Island alone.

 

The chart below shows the number of caches placed per month on Vancouver Island. As you can see, we are way off the trend for this month.
