Error message Geocaching.com via Safari

This error message has been appearing on my macbook for some time, with Safari 15.4 with MacOS Monterey and also with the previous MacOs version, when I select a cache from the map. Refreshing the screen sometimes helps, but usually not. Performing the same action under Chrome will not cause any problems.

Have the same problem too but refreshing seems to solve it for me. I'm on a MacBook Air and using SafarI 15.4

I presume its a setting that needs changing/updating but I can't find it

Tried switching over to 'browse geocaches' but the map there is completely messed up:

Update:

• Both maps (search & browse) work on Microsoft Edge
• Cleared all related cookies in Chrome to remove old setting but no success. None of the maps work in Chrome

Both Edge and Chrome are based on the same tech, aka Chromium, so it does not make sense that it would work on one but not the other unless there are other differences in terms of what you run in one browser but not the other.

 

Are you running any scripts, extensions, or blocking any essential cookies that could be interfering?

 

I am not able to reproduce what is shown in your screenshots. Both maps work fine on my machine with Chrome (Version 101.0.4951.67 (Official Build) (64-bit)).

Strange... everything back to normal right now...

Maybe it depends on to which server (instance) I am/was connecting to (?)
Can't recreate the problem right now. Everything is fine.

Not a single problem... with Safari on an Air 4 with iOS 15.5.

Maybe the problem is not the website, but some other software you have running, I guess... and some providers used to block geocaching.com in Germany, by instance... who knows also in Belgium?!

Although there are workarounds (such as using another browser, and refreshing as you mention), I assure you our engineers are working to resolve this. Thank you.

• There were no scripts running on my side... I even deactivated Tampermonkey to be sure...
• The problem comes... the problem goes... (and comes back again) without any changes (on my side). 
• If European providers block geocaching.com traffic, you couldn't just switch between browsers - and the problems would occur all over the site
• I have the strong feeling that this is caused by some faulty data caching somewhere between 'you' and 'me' - and that the problem is somehow related to performance issues. This is why it comes and goes...

My answer was related to other thread, that later was merged with this one... only about not been able to run the website on an iPad.

Another cry for help,  this one with regards from Belgium 

Eversince I updated  my iPad Air 2019 to iPad OS 15.x (and currently running iPad OS 15.5)  I'm experiencing these very same chunk-error problems daily and with any browser (Safari, Firefox, Edge, Chrome...), via wifi as well as via 4G.  Sometimes one single refresh helps to make me happy again, but mostly it needs 5 to 10 tries, sometimes even more before I can leave this irritating error message behind and keep on using the website in a normal way, but of course only during that session, because next time... yeh, you're right : same problem thus same frustration 

On my other and elder iPad (still running iPad OS 12.5.1) everything works perfect, session after session, day after day, with any browser.

Beside the two iPads we have 3 Apple MacBooks in the house (MacBook Pro 2012 running Catalina 10.15.7, MacBook Air 2013 running Big Sur 11.6.2, MacBook Pro 2015 running Monterey 12.2) on which we're not facing these problems (yet).  On these MacBooks Safari is the default browser.

For what it's worth : on all of these iPads and MacBooks we use the same (Belgian) internet-provider Telenet.

This is still happening. Here’s the latest errors I got while trying to open satellite view on the map page. It’s making looking at caches on an iPad prior to a trip virtually impossible. Please provide an update. Beginning to think my premium membership isn’t really worth it with all these issues.

Been getting the same  since May. Safari 16.1 on a MacBook Air  Ventura 13.0.1.

Reloading helps.  Just the other day, can't delete archived caches from my lists.

 

Works OK on other browsers on same machine.
