dr_bob
Hi All... I've been itching to start geocaching for a while, but I'll mainly be using my GPS for offroading. Just wondering if this is a good price (in canada!) for a GPS - Magellan Meridian - 16MB SD Card - MapSend - Cable $399.99 + tax(GST+7%Manitoba PST) - $75 Mail-in Rebate Thx. Quote Link to comment
+DustyJacket
Which model of meridian? And which Mapsend product? Streets? Streets and Destinations? Topo? For a Yellow or Green, it is way too much, even for CN$. DustyJacket Not all those that wander are lost. But in my case... Quote Link to comment
+Hard Oiler
Is that the Meridian Gold? If so that's sounds a good price. Just paid $424Can -$75US rebate from GPS Central (GST but no PST as its Alberta . If it's just a Meridian (which have now been discontinued) - not such a good deal. Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
The basic Meridian is a dicontinued model so it's difficult to compare prices. You might want to have a look at GPSCentral.ca to compare prices with the current models. There's a list of Canadian on-line dealers on my website (below) if you want to compare various vendors. dr_bob
It's just the Meridian SE. It comes with Mapsend streets and Destinations Canada CD-ROM. If that's not a good price, I guess I'll wait until Stampede and try and find a cheap one in Calgary. Thanks Guys. Quote Link to comment
+Hard Oiler
Don't wait - this is perfect geocaching weather (at least in Ontario) and the Magellan rebate is only good until June 29th. Mine came mail order from GPS Central in 3 days so you could be up and caching next week. Someone also just told me that the Etrex Legend is in Walmart for $249 CAN. Of course you wouldn't want a Garmin would you.... Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
I'm a Garmin guy myself but it looks like not a bad price for the basic Merdian. The same package except with the Meridian Gold is $25 more (but no PST)at GPS Central . For the extra money the size of the internal map increases from 2 to 16 MB. Here's a comparison chart.
