Any Prairie Cachers out there?

How is GeoCaching in the Prairies different from caching elsewhere?

Do you find that there are less excellent cache spots?

Does agriculture affect your caching at all? How so?

We're looking into moving to Saskatoon next year, and I was quite shocked to discover that within 100 miles, there are 17 caches. I'm now wondering if this is mostly just because people don't know about the sport, don't have other uses for GPS as a gateway to the sport, or because the conditions for caching are more "difficult", or require much more creativity in hides.

Any opinions or observations?

We probably have to consider our population is only about 1mil. We have around 652,000 square km's within Saskatchewan, but a large portion of the population is in small communities.

Locations to place caches on the parries is not a problem at all. Many of the existing 71 cache's here are excellet, and are thousands of areas and points of interest within the province that would rate from easy to hard, and still be very interesting.

I would guess the sport just needs a little more exposure.
