I would like to check my GPSr accuracy, and I know I have tramped over dozens of them, but now that I want one.. do you think I can find one???? Hate tha t.... gm100guy Posted March 18, 2003 Share Posted March 18, 2003 If you get the current topo map for the area you are in the datum for the map is listed on it. You can then go out and take a reading with your gps set to that datum. Go back to the map and plot your position using the UTM grid and see how close you are. Works for me all the time when I use my Softmap printouts.
