J.A.R.S.
We'll be taking a driving vacation soon and want to combine tourism with caching. Can anyone suggest some caches in scenic areas (places with a view, places with interesting things to see)between Oshawa and Montreal? Quote Link to comment
+Olar
This one may be too far off your intended route, however its in a pretty spot with a nice lake and river to cross. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=22840&logs=y&decrypt= Have a nice trip, Olar Quote Link to comment
+Binrat
Here's a few that I have done that are accesiable from the Hwy 401 or the 1000 Islands Parkway along the St. Lawrence Seaway. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=18110 (Kingston, ON Nice Views) http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=16690 (Gananoque, ON Look carefully at pics to help locate this one) http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=26670 (Mallorytown Landing Just a little bit of a hike) http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=24585 (Mallorytown Landing Easy, Right at the Hwy 401) http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=19794 (Iroquois, ON Right at the seaway lock, nice views of ships) And in Brockville, ON is my cache and there is still a bug waiting in it and just a little drive down the road from the Hwy 401 and a nice little walk http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=30245( watch your GPS and you may see signs for a shortcut. Best of Luck Binrat P.S. email me if you need any info on these and any other info for the area "Blood is thicker than water.......Unless the water is frozen!" Bradinn
Well, my wife and I just got back from Team Bradinns first Geocaching Road Trip. We headed down to Kingston to visit relatives, we hit Several, and I can say that they are all quite nice. I would recommend: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=13906 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=23199 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=13073 We found all 3 of these to be quite nice, and they are all quite short hops off the 401 while you are driving. J.A.R.S.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I got a chance to check the discussion group before we left and again on the way back so we did find a few that were suggested. Would highly recommend for ingenuity: I Spy GC5773 - very intriguing. Ultra-Camo GC3C3F - best container we've seen so far. For scenic views we liked: Devil Made Us Do It GC35D6 The Fort GC46BE Wooded Waterfront GC3652 Honorable mentions to: Urban Microcache #1 GC4BC6 - novel way to hide a micro Rusty Bridge Cache GC7028 - camo pvc tub Quote Link to comment
