Enjoying Geocaching

Well, if none of the Dutch cachers will say it, let me.

Welcome to geocaching! If you frequent the forums, you'll find that a lot of the "general" posts are America- and Canada-centred. There are a lot of us in Europe as well...I am sometimes surprised Contenental Europe doesn't have its own room.

Europe vs America generally doesn't make much of a difference, but sometimes the rules they get obsessed about are completely irrelevant to us.

The important thing is to enjoy caching!

Hi,

I'm also new to geocaching, at least, I'm reading a lot about it on the internet, and it seems like a lot of fun.

I don't have a GPS yet, but will buy one as soon as I have figured out which one I like.

I'll be doing a course in orienteering soon (with compass, map and gps) so that will give me some clues.

Since I live near Paris now, I tried to find some geocachers here, but it seems that the french also hid their web-sites, or they don't visit them.

I know there is a dutch web site, just like this one, which is pretty popular. Anyway, sorry to see that this 'all nations' forum does not have amore seperate countries (like France, netherlands, Spain, Italy) icon_frown.gif
