Fascinating stats to look at. 
 

Apparently European cachers have a lot more Geocaching events then here in the USA.  And they fell off much faster than here but they also recovered faster. 
 

I wonder:
 

How attendance at the events compares, Europe vs USA

 

Why are more events held in Europe, up to 4 times the number in the US.

Population of Europe 750,000,000 vs USA 333,000,000.

There were also more find logs written in Germany than in the US last year, despite the population ratio of 1:4. Geocaching activity per capita is simply higher in Europe, probably because of the later start and many countries not having passed the peak yet. Also tough Covid restrictions on events will lead to a surge when those restrictions are lifted.

That number includes Russia (pop. 145 million) which averaged around 2 events per month in 2019-2021.
