C-Troop
Can anyone tell me if there are any caches in Vegas that are close to the strip? I am doing a vegas trip next week and would like to hit a few, but I would prefer that they be close to the strip since Im not sure if we are doing the rental car thing. Thanks C-Troop Quote Link to comment
+Great Scott!
Go here: geocaching.com Find the grey box in the top right corner and change the State to Nevada. Click on GO. Change the local city to Las Vegas and click GET CACHES. Quote Link to comment
+Great Scott!
Try this link instead: geocaching.com Quote Link to comment
+creagerstonefamily
In fact, there's only one traditional cache Dru Morgan's Sin City Micro. A car would be a lot more fun. If you use Dollar.com, use the coupon code DESTC and you'll save about 50%. Quote Link to comment

Thanks C-Troop We just got back from Vegas and had a great time geocaching. I would suggest doing the rental car thing and heading out to Red Rock Canyon. There are about a half dozen caches out there that are easy to drive/hike to with a passenger car. The scenery out there is amazing as well. Scott Quote Link to comment
C-Troop
Thanks CreagerStone Family and Team My Blue Heaven! This is the info I was looking for, Without any decent caches near the strip I may just have to take a day and do the rental thing, I do have a list of some caches that would be a lot of fun. Thanks again! BTW...COOL FJ-40!! [This message was edited by C-Troop on November 13, 2002 at 05:05 PM.] Quote Link to comment

Helpful info, thanks. But here's a word of caution; today I tried the dollar.com link w/ the supplied code and got an $80 rate. Then for grins I ran the same rental w/o the code and got a $71 rate!? Try both ways before you commit--I just saved $9 for the slots!! (or gas ) Don't ask me. I'm not from around here... Quote Link to comment
+Z, H, and S
You can try finding "Sin City" that's on the strip. Another nearby yet fun one is "Mary had a little cache" Quote Link to comment
Jake - Team A.I.
I went up to Vegas from the Phoenix area about two months ago. I drove up and managed to find 10 caches (ok some were virtual), and go to my friends wedding in one day. Quote Link to comment
Team Cachebarr
Hi all. I was able to find some Vegas strip geocaches but was wondering if someone can help me out in locating some on or around Fremont St. Any suggestions? If you can name one or two geocaches in that area and then I can take it from there. Thanks Quote Link to comment
+Z, H, and S
You can also try "Slim Pickens Heads to Vegas" Quote Link to comment
+Z, H, and S
Never mind it turned up missing. But will be back soon thanks to "JJ". Quote Link to comment

+Tradboy
Here I sit, waiting for my flight to Phoenix. I'm bored, killing time reading old geocaching forum items. I have an extra Hard Rock $5 chip. Vegas Airport, Gate C1, bank of payphones....last phone nearest corner, $5 chip hidden under phone. Have fun. Reply if you score. Tradboy Quote Link to comment
+Tradboy
I'm headed back to the C gates in Vegas today. Looks like no one cared enough about $5 to grab this, or else cachers don't fly enough ;-) What do y'all think the chances of it still being there are? Quote Link to comment
jponting
Have you been back to grap it Tradboy... I think the Vegas Post aren't checked greatly here in Vegas, but we will change that. If you haven't grabbed it yet, I will go hunt it down, if they let us in the airport. Let me know. Quote Link to comment
+Tradboy
No, i didnt grab it, i forgot. Security wont let you in the gate without a ticket, so you can't just waltz in and get it.... Quote Link to comment
Vacman
Of course I hadn't read this thread until now! I was there - at that gate on March 6th.....(sigh) If you ever catch on fire, try to avoid looking in a mirror, because I bet that will really throw you into a panic. Quote Link to comment
+Tradboy
It's gone. I checked today. Some lucky custodian or little kid, maybe. Quote Link to comment
+thumpertoo
LOL....everyone I know has come in through the D gates. But I tried about 4 times to have someone nab it. Now that it is gone the next person I know that flies into Vegas will be at the C Gates....how much you wanna bet? *With my GPS in hand, and upon my trusty steed (er, truck) I scout the land in search of the mystical Geocache!* Quote Link to comment
