Yrium's Geocacher Trading Cards

Looking at the card with me on the motorcycle, I cannot spot anything that remotely reveals that this has been photoshopped. It just looks so real!

The pink ears give it away...

:)

Let me rephrase that. The one with me standing next to my motorcycle and Thunder sitting next to me looks so real. ;)

Randy,

With your near-death experience last year I knew that I

had to produce a good result. Working with concepts that

Devhead offered and with Tom in the usual way put the

effort in the win-column. The result has received terrific

reviews because you're so special to all that know you.

Don't forget ... keep on ticking!

Congratulations to The Fat Cats and welcome to the

Yrium-card social set. Once Tom releases your card

he'll contact you to pass on the secret handshake.

The hard part of doing an Yrium-card layout is finding

source images that can be used to express a theme

chosen by the related recommender; in this case,

Ramona Retired Snipe. How odd it is this time that I

happened to be the photographer for the main source

image.

The theme? Well, to feature the Fat-Cats Avatar,

Sue and Mom, Chelsea the GeoDawg, Puzzle Queen,

and a Jeep painted blood-red as a tribute to Sue's

renowned surgical skill. (Tell me about it.) Here's a

Thanks to Flagman and SD Rowdies for all their hard work this week getting these cards ready. So glad to see the final product after looking at the drafts.

BTW when you all get to read the back of the card there's a note "rookie on the side of the road." That was me on my third Geocache outing. And it's lead into a great friendships and love of caching.

I hope everyone enjoys!

Mom, Chelsea, and I are so honored to be picked for this Yrium card...Thank you, Doug and Anjie!!! We're both so glad to have met you, too.

We love the layout and while we hadn't noticed the resemblance of the color of Betsy to the color of poor 'Ol Eleven Fangers' blood, we can definitely see it now. :D

And remember our new code phrase, "Doug in the Desert!" (To explain...I tend to argue with Doug about routes and such when we're in the desert Jeepin' and I'm always wrong...always!!! So I asked Doug to say "Doug in the Desert" when I'm being stupid, this being much politer than saying, "Sue, shut up!!!" :anitongue: And just for the record, anyone can use this phrase and I'll be reminded to hush up (anyone, that is, except for 'Ol Harmon!)

"Except for poor ol' Harmon" is a phrase that I hear

a lot from my friends and family. Looking back on

the butchering incident I'm just thankful that it didn't

happen to my nose-pickin' fanger.

My only actual regret is that I didn't wind up with a

photo of that knife from Hell you carry in your pocket.

Delighted that you are pleased with the card layout.

What a joy it was to see TheIronMom walking up to my door this evening ... with Yrium cards  ! I simply LOVE the amazing work that goes into these cards. Harmon, as usual, did an incredible job. The misprint brought a smile to my face the moment I saw it! Conga rats to The Fat Cats on being the latest honorees in the TNG series ... very well deserved!

Thanks Barrie for tellin' me the new card was out.

We were out most of the day and stopped by on our way home.

Picked up a pair for TheHikingMonk's family (THM, TIM, SNF, MM, MD, TI, TSP, SB, and OX) to share.

Got a set for Boysnbarrie (who was busy packing for a trip) and one to mail to kwver's since they're out of town for awhile.

AWESOME JOB on the design layout, etc.

Had a great time working on this layout because Jubeloh knew

what he wanted and Indiana Ed is certainly a worthy honoree.

Last but not least I enjoyed the fact that the beast and the

Hi, there!! :D For anyone who is interested, I am pleased to announce that the mantle has been passed!! That's right, from now on the UDesignit Card TB is "owned" by The Fat Cats!! Sue has graciously agreed to carry on the proud tradition started by the lovable yrium. Harmon, of course, will continue to provide artistic and technical support. Almost 7-years is enough of my nonsense, dontcha think?, so I have stepped down from day-to-day involvement and will serve as a sort of deposed dictator of sorts, pulling all the strings from some deserted island where I have been exiled for various crimes against humanity. Sue is really good with scissors -- just ask Harmon -- so you can rest assured that we are in good hands (just watch your fingers...)

Anyhoo, let's all put our hands together and give Sue a huge SoCal welcome!!! Can't wait to see you put your stamp on this project!! :DB):D

And another big hug for that stalwart FlagMan and his

many years of dedication to the Yrium memorial cause.

Thank goodness I was born with ten fangers ... with

any luck at all one or two should survive my support

for The Fat Cats.

Piling on to pass along a big thank you to Flagman for carrying on Yrium's tradition for so many years since his passing back in July 2004. It seems only yesterday that I would await for another original card to be dropped in a county cache along with an always hilarious log entry from Yrium and Gromit. I also appreciated great correspondence with him. There was quite a competition circa 2001-4 to reach some of those drops while there was still a card in them since often he would occasionally only leave one or two and the caches were often FTF opportunities, too.

Tom and Harmon, I'm sure Yrium would be proud of the ever growing collection that continues in his memory. So pleased to hear that Sue will be taking up the baton.

-GD

P.S. I nabbed an Indiana Ed card from Max's Favorite Park earlier today on an errand running bike ride. There were still four in the cache. As I closing things up, another cacher arrived so there are probably three left now.

Tom and Harmon, I'm sure Yrium would be proud of the ever growing collection that continues in his memory. So pleased to hear that Sue will be taking up the baton.

-GD

Sue is clearly excited about her new responsibilities. I look

forward to supporting her with a song in my heart ... theme

from Grease.

Whoa!

Harmon singing should be worth at least one show of PUD cake support, I reckon. So, you let me know where you'll be singin' ol' buddy, and I'll be sure to supply enough PUD.

Sincerely,

boysnbarrie

You would be surprised at my vocal range and at the fact

that I sing now and then while hiking some lonesome trail.

It's that dang yodeling I cain't get th' hang of. Fair

warning ... I tend t'ard spirituals in a baritone sort

o' way. Concerning spirituals.

I sang f'r PUD cake ... now there's an act!

Besides, what's up wit' you girl? You haven't been leavin'

Well, I've been working every possible opportunity on my lil' yellow limo. You see, our poor ol' State of California can't afford school bus drivers like they used to ... so I lost another month of work this year. It really hurt me, in more ways than one. Less moola, less fuel in my tank, less Geocaching, and less Harmon. Ain't it a sad picture?

Actually, I think I'm doing better than ALOT of folks. I still have my house, job, friends, etc! I'd come out of hiding to hear you sing a song to Sue, though. That oughta lift up a girl's spirits, right ol' buddie?

Attagal ... counting your blessings is a good approach.

Bless you,

Harmon
