I keep tryin' t' learn you guys about lighting angles. First San Diego Geocaching Event - Photo enhanced. Check it out, as you can see I was grabbing on a girl. Chics love Photoshoppers. +3cd's
Hopefully no one will mind me posting this here. Some of you know my brother passed away a couple of months ago. My wife and I are the executors of his estate. We have removed most of the property from his house but still have two water beds and a computer hutch that we hope to give to someone who need/wants them. 1st is a full sized water bed. Frame is made of the dark pine popular 10-15 years ago. 2nd is a queen sized water bed made from the same wood as above. I have both of the matresses drained. If you want them, they are yours or you can just take the bed and use it for standard type matresses. 3rd is an Oak computer hutch just a couple of years old. It has filing drawers and smaller ones....cabinet space and shelf space above the computer section. Any or all can be had for free. I am hoping to give it to a geocacher who needs/wants it. If no one is interested I wil just put it on craigs list or something like that. It is located in National City and each piece shoud fit in a pickup truck. I will be happy to help you load or haul whatever you are interested in. Contact me via email in my profile. For any administrator that feels this should not be posted here. Please delete it. I wont mind.....Thanks......Chuck Davis....aka 3cd's Quote Link to comment
+SKILLET
What do you all think of this type of flashmob event. It seams kind of shakey to me. Having an event of public property is one thing, but on private property a Casino is another thing. The pri meet in the parking structure will be on camera. Everyone leaving the parking will be on camera. Everyone entering the Casino will be on camera. What do you think security will be doing while all this is going on.? What will security do when they see on camera everyone putting on a disguise and yelling. I don't think the Casino is going to take this very lightly. The cuffs my come and be applied until what is going on is cleared up. This would Not a good representation for Geocaching Unless if the Casino knows what is going to happen first then this may work. why would MR approve this Quote Link to comment

What will security do when they see on camera everyone putting on a disguise and yelling. Having seen how worried the Balboa Park guy looked before he understood what was happening at our last flash event, I could take a guess... Casinos have lots and lots of cash (not cache but cash). Cash attracts a lot of unpleasant people. Casino guards have to deal with these unpleasant people. As a result, they don't have much of a sense of humor... I think I have other plans that day... Then again, it might be fun to watch the news that night! Neither freedom of speech nor freedom of lawful assembly are absolute...there are numerous restrictions have been upheld by the highest courts in our land. You are not, for example, completely free to assemble on private property even if that property is nominally open to the public (something I discovered first hand when a performance group to which I belong chose to stage an impromptu performance at Ferry Landing on Coronado...) I see that the event has been modified but IMHO it's still not a good idea...here's why... Magic and scamming casinos have much in common. Among other things, both benefit from misdirection. For this reason, the people who watch over casinos tend to take a dim view of staged events in casinos (whether innocent or not) because they provide excellent cover for the real action. (It is conceivable that some nefarious characters could decide to use this event for their own purposes, though I would consider this unlikely...) Mind you, this isn't Ocean's 11 stuff here. We are only talking about small stuff -- chip copping, mucking, bet capping and such...things that happen often enough that they take it pretty seriously. I sincerely hope that TGR does contact the casino. If the casino gives the go ahead, then all is cool. If not, then choosing an alternate plan would be wisest...
