We've moved out of state and have left behind caches in some beautiful spots in Maine...hoping someone will take them over.

I mean no offense by this, but normally the preferred technique is to either adopt them out before you leave, or to pick them up before you move.

 

While abandoning them and hoping someone else either takes them over or cleans up after you is one way to do it, it's not ideal.

I was just about to ask the same thing. Why didn't you take care of this before you moved?

Another option is contacting prolific cache owners in your former area directly through the website to see if they are willing to adopt your caches.

Whatever you do, please don't leave them behind, unmaintained, to rot.
