+DARKSIDEDAN Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 List 3 essential things you take on a geocaching adventure (excluding GPS, pen and swaps)? Quote
+barefootjeff Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Swaps? I don't think I've ever swapped anything in or out of a cache. Not my thing. So exluding GPSr and pen, I'd say water, spare batteries for said GPSr and first aid kit. For the fourth I'd add personal locator beacon, something I haven't yet had to use. Quote
+colleda Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Three pens. If I lose one, I have another two. If one stops working I have another. If lose it too I'll call it quits. 1 Quote
+The Jester Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Only three?? The Mountaineer's only got the list down to 10 Essentials... 1 Quote
+Goldenwattle Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Leaving aside things to do with GPS, such as spare batteries; water, hat, suitable spare clothes in case the weather turns. Quote

If lose it too I'll call it quits. Do three pens count as one thing? If so, poking stick (hiking stick I made out of a long golf club shaft, or other hiking stick), wide-brimmed hat, and at least 3 pens (some are fine point sharpies). But the 3 pens are in my cache pack full of useful cache stuff & swag. If I haven't grabbed anything else, I still have a pen in a pants pocket. Quote
