Is it gone?

I recently returned to Geocaching after 5 years off (having only done a few at the time). There was a cache file on my GPS from 5 years ago that I tried to find the other day, but couldn't. It turns out that I can't find the listing on Geocaching.com either. Does that mean that it has been discontinued, canceled, deactivated, or whatever the proper term is?

It's most likley been archived.  If you have the GC code, you should be able to look it up on the site to verify that it's been archived.

Probably archived. If you logged a dnf on that cache then you can go to your profile search for your dnf logs and access it that way. Just one option.

You were right. It's been archived because nobody could find it, and it was assumed missing.  Guess I can cross that one off my list.

FYI, Cache status changes regularly. It's my personal practice to obtain a fresh cache listing by running my PQs once a month. If your list is 5 years old, I suspect you will experience a great deal of frustration, and miss out an many brand new caches in your area.
