Inland Empire cachers?

Who is in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties?

Is there a informal Caching group or should one be started?

This is one of the DENSEST geocaching regions on the planet, somehow I think a geo-group would be possible.

http://www.scgeocachers.org

we meet to do group caches and have get together...this does encompass all of the so. cal. area, so i dont know if you want to start a local club for just the IE only...we are from corona and we are always ready to hook up with a cacher for some hunts near and far...

Since the last get-together was in Corona, I think it qualifies for what you are looking for. There are a lot of cachers in western Riverside County.

Of course, I wouldn't mind another excuse to get together and/or go group caching.

My two cents worth, refunds available on request. (US funds only)

well if you guys are heart set on just meeting IE folks then set a place and a time and most will show up...but we have found folks will come from as far away as simi valley, LA, long beach, and even some from San Diego...It's like on the 5th of Oct. there is a group of us doing The Bald Italian 10064', which you are more then welcome to join us for...

So far there are folks coming from OC and LA county, and one making the trip from thousand oaks area...we are free most nites for coffee and live in corona, so if you set it up, Iam sure you will get about 30 or so cachers icon_eek.gif

What I am looking for is a semi-formal, (or just palin casual) group who can meet for cache events,

coffee, or just to plan a picnic or somethig, we could evn set up a "combined" cache that would draw others into our area, for improved caching.

On my caches I try tio have a theme, I have two tours (not all caches on each tour are mine), one deals with Route 66, and the other deals with the Earp family.

Suggestions?

Ok lets define some limits. The InlandEmpire is commonly referenced as:

San Bernardino and Riverside counties, but tthat covers a WIDE area.

Where should we set limits of inclusion?

Secondly what is the TOUGHEST access cache in the area?

The Remotest?

The Highest? The Lowest,? (Badwater is at -282 feet, is there a cache there? Salton Sea is about -80 feet, a cache there?)

Hey, don't forget about me! Rancho Cucamonga is alive and thriving these days. You can't go a block without running into a construction site.

As Carivercpl said, you just missed the Pizza Bash in Corona back in July. The next event planned is in Thousand Oaks which I will be attending. Although not an "official" Southern California Geocachers event, I'll be representing. I would imagine the next event would take place in January, after the holidays. Probably another pizza event. I would also imagine that we'll probably be holding it in the Brea area perhaps.

Feel free to come on by the Southern California Geocachers site. Lots of friendly peeps in there! And come on out and join us for the ascent of Mt. Baldy if you can!

Well Bo you set it up and we will try to make it...But dont be surprise if you get folks from outside the IE to show up...I have found that geocachers just like to hook up and "party"...Oh the some of the toughest hikes I have done in the IE is around Box Canyon area, do the "C" cache from the bottom or gorgonio 1/2 way, or do all the box canyon caches in a day...or Doc Bob has a few over in the local hills above Corona and Lake Elsanore.

Yes, we're out of area cachers to you, but we’re interested because we used to live out there. I'm from San Diego, but lived in Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Yucaipa. The wife is from Rancho Cucamonga. Webfoot was even her Jr. High teacher!

We travel out there 1-3 times a year to visit family. We logged quite a few caches on our last trip, most of them on I-40 on the way out there.

I finally got into double-digits for the month, today. If anyone was waiting for cooler weather it should be coming up soon!

So, Any suggestions out there for good event cache days? I'd be interested in helping set something up....

OK The RACE is on!!!

Once upon a time there were TWIN helecopters who made a bet.

Race around the World, finishing before Dec 5, 2003

Rules:

1. Visit England

2. Visit Japan or Australia

3. Visit Hawaii

Hurry said to Harry, "I bet I can get around the world in 80 days, just like Phineas Fogg."

Harry replied, "I bet I can too, and I bet that I can BEAT you around the world."

So sure enough these two twins decided that they would race around the world, and try to be back at the start by December 5, 2003, and enjoy a nice Christmas season at home.

So the Race is on....
