Guest Kubuli Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 e, most of them would not get out of their jeeps to walk anywhere. I suspect they have destroyed this cache and I know they know where the kids cache down the river is so they will probably get that one too.....and they know geocaching is on the net so it will not take them long to find the locactions and possibly get the rest of the caches on the river..... Guest Kubuli Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 Hello I have contacted the sacramento board of supervisors like the park ranger said to do and will wait and see what they say........its not like we are destroying anything and we should be allowed to do it............. Quote

Guest Kubuli Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 Abbys Oakgrove..........was probably way to close to the bike path....those park rangers run that bike path in their jeeps all the time now the salmon are running..... Quote
Guest Snow Rider Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 I doubt that the park ranger could find that cache, or most of the others along the Parkway. If they were seaarching caches wouldnt that be playing on OUR time?? The Kids Cache is in need of a new container and was in plain sight when I searched it out. Quote
Guest jeo Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 That's very interesting because I also have been asked what I'm doing when searching for Southside 1 (or 2) (also along the American river trail) by a park ranger and he sounded interested and he didn't say anything about it being illegal. I guess your park ranger was having a bad day or something. Quote
Guest Rent Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 During my last (still unsucessful) try for Abby's Oak Grove cache, I was called over by the Game Warden. I explained what I was doing and he didn't seem to have a problem with it. Asking the Board of Supervisors is probably a BAD idea. Bringing something to the attention of politicos usually gets them to simply ban it. From their perspective its the easy (i.e. lazy) response. - Rent Quote
Guest Kubuli Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 Hi I ran into that other park ranger the day be for.....he just stopped and wanted to make sure we were not digging of old stuff that now belongs to the county and state....he was nice.....if they get a hair up they would not consider it playing to log onto the web and search out all the caches on the river, they would be protecting nature from us Quote

Guest Rent Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 Have you guys seen the trail adoption signs that have sprung out there along the bike trail? We could boost our credibility if we got together and adopted a mile of the trail. Whadayathink? - Rent Quote
Guest McIrish Posted November 6, 2001 Posted November 6, 2001 I was at the "American Kids Cache" a couple of days ago. It was full of water and ants. I got rid of the lollipop that was drawing the ants, but there needs to be a bag for the cache to keep the water out. I didn't have one or I would have covered it. The cache is kind of in plain site, but I didn't want to move it. It might be time to move that one. The area is really nice so maybe it could just move a few feet to a less obvious area. Quote

Guest jeo Posted November 9, 2001 Posted November 9, 2001 Nice pics! I recognize a few people. We are 15 from the top or 9 from the bottom. Sorry I didn't smile I wasn't sure how those temp cameras worked. My son Aaron is laughing at me in the background. No resemblance at all. Quote
