Caches hidden per state

Is there anyway to know the number of caches hidden for each state ? Yes, I know the numbers continue to change with additions and archiving.

If you're interested in a specific state you can use the geocaching.com search. It will display the number of caches at the top of the results. 

 

Florida has a little under 40,000. It peaked before Hurricane Irma with about 44,000. A few states have/had more including I think California (before the endless wildfires at least) and Pennsylvania.

No total but broken down by county numbers. Must add all countys.

A quick form of the URL for going from state to state  is from Old Search (for however long that works)

that's all Alabama caches

2=Alaska, and then on alpha numerically

3=Arizona.

8=District of Columbia...

51=Wyoming

Also, Canadian provinces in the 60s, somewhat randomly.  I still use my Alberta bookmark (63) regularly; it has all the things missing from the new search.
