+FamilieFrohne
If the category is in the public directory and has entries, there is no way to remove it - at least for us normal users. A (database) admin may remove it, but surely he won't do it if not forced by legal reasons. So: as Max and 99 pointed out: WHY do you want to delete a category? And the second interesting question would be: WHAT is the offending category? Quote Link to comment
+Thot
Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. I would like to have no additional waymarks added to the category. Quote Link to comment
+Alfouine
Could you give us the name of the category ? Quote Link to comment

+Thot
It is the Outhouses category. Quote Link to comment
+Alfouine
It's not possible to archive a category, but you can promote new officers to manage the category if you do not have time to do it A category belongs to Waymarking, and once it's approved in Peer review, it's forever Quote Link to comment

If you are uninterested in continuing with this category just promote a new leader. Your enrollment is off. I would join the group and willing to take it over. Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
How many officers in the group, if you drop out it could leave the group/category struggling without sufficient officers. Quote Link to comment

(I haven't checked out the category to see who the officers are.) If a Category is at the minimum number of officers required, and the one and only active officer drops out, there may be no one to promote new officers and keep the group active. Without intervention from Wayfrog (or others) Quote Link to comment

It is with the deepest regret, to inform the Waymarking community that Thot passed away. Mrs. Thot is the OP. The Outhouses category is under new management. Quote Link to comment
