+TechnologyTeacher
We placed a travel bug a few years ago and enjoy seeing it travel around the country on its mission. The last cacher picked it up in Florida in June and took it "visiting" to 10 different caches before finally placing it in a travel bug hotel in Idaho. He logged it as "visiting" at the caches he went to across the country but didn't place it. We have never heard of a visiting travel bug before. Is this a new practice until you find the perfect spot to drop a bug? Thanks for any info. TechnologyTeacher Quote Link to comment

It replaced the Drop, then Retrieve to multiple caches ("dipping") that folks did earlier, making it much easier to do. For some, "easier to do" (instead of two separate logs) created it's own problems, with people becoming pretty-much hoarders, holding other's property for months or even years. Without photos, many wonder if that long-time holder "visiting" even has the trackable any more... 2 Quote Link to comment
