Leaderboard?

So you've launched a new challenge and I got a souvenir today without knowing it was coming. I read the blog post but DOH!!!! No one included a link to the leaderboard, so how are we supposed to track our progress???
Blog:  https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2021/07/new-leaderboard-challenge-reach-the-peak/ (as usual there is no link on the souvenir, I had to google to even get this much)
It boggles my mind how difficult GS makes it to find things they are "promoting".

If you go to your dashboard: https://www.geocaching.com/account/dashboard

In the left side is the Reach the Peak link to your leaderboard: https://www.geocaching.com/play/leaderboard

EDIT: The blog does say "Go to your profile and tap on Reach the Peak to see your progress in the Geocaching® app." They don't state how to do it on the website.

Thanks for the link! The left side of my dashboard is blank and I did see that it said to tap on Reach the Peak except... there is no Reach the Peak to click anywhere on my dashboard page! (I have had a lot of trouble with a lot of things on the site since the latest "upgrade".) Appreciate the help!

Edit to add: I cannot help but wonder why they never put a link to the leaderboard on the blog entry - it really is so simple and would be so helpful! That was true for the last two or three challenges/souvenir things that I actively participated in.

@CCFwasG

The link in the blog post is missing, that's true (in the German translation aswell) - and bad. Probably just a mistake. But there's a link on the geocaching.com homepage:

And your dashboard page is blank on the left side, nothing to see like here on my dashboard?

By the way: "Reach the Peak" and "Leaderboard" are leading to the same page.

Thanks Rampensau - yup blank left side of my page, looks nothing like yours!

p.s. I never look at the main page so thanks for that - oddly that's not where they had a link before, as far as I remember. Anyway, would be so much better if they'd put links in the blog and on the souvenir pages too!

Similar complaint here. I can find the Leaderboard at https://www.geocaching.com/play/leaderboard but on that page there is the phrase "Search for Reach the Peak on the official Geocaching Blog to learn more." Surely there should be a link here - this is how the internet is meant to work!

So, I have to use Google to find the Geocaching blog, or guess to click "Community" at the top of the page. Once I find the blog, I search for "Reach the Peak" and the first link is to an article which tells me to subscribe to the newsletter to find out about the points structure. Again, surely a link to the correct blog entry would be more useful? The second link in the search results is the same as the first, but in Spanish this time, again with no link to the blog entry I want. The third is in German (again no useful link) and finally I find the article I want in fourth position.

It's a great idea but can the communication be improved with a few links, please?

Do you have a friends list? In my opinion that's one of the easiest ways to get to the leaderboard you just click on the link at the top right.

On the link you provided in your post I see your quote about the blog but when you just continue scrolling down on the page the leaderboard is there.

I can see the leaderboard but it tells me nothing about the souvenirs.

The leaderboard contains a big green button that says "Earn Souvenirs". When you click on it, it tells you which souvenirs can currently be earned for what number of points / elevation.

I have highlighted it in red in the screenshot below:

ReachThePeak.JPG

All that does for me is show the two souvenirs I can already see on my souvenirs page... no details, no points etc. It does show how many points anyone might need to earn them, which is sort of useless once you have already done that. Anyway, my issues with lack of linking info and ease of finding it all remain.
