Ticks in PA...

Usually   "we're number one !"   is a good thing, just not this time...

CDC says PA is again the most cases of Lyme disease.  Five years straight now.  Guess it's competing with the virus, as they still using their 2019 Map.

The game commission, and DCNR have found that Barberry for some odd reason is a magnet for ticks (we could have told them that years ago...).

Deer don't eat it, they eat around it, so it spreads quickly, and people don't want to tear their clothes and skin to yank it out.

A lotta state parks, and most mountain game lands are full of plants.

Add insult to injury, you get scratched on the plant and a critter moves in.  An article on the subject is Here.

So be careful, check often, and permethrin, picaridin, lemon-eucalyptus, and DEET are protecting you.
