Geocaching Swag - Good or Bad?

What do you all think about Geocaching Swag? Is it a Good thing or a Bad thing? Personally I don't put swag into my Hides anymore.

It's been a lot of years since I left some form of swaps in a cache. These days it's very much TNLNSL.

These days swag has become "treasure" for the taking. I'll put some in new caches but after that I will rarely top up.

It's rare that I seed my hides with swag as most of them are higher terrain ones that are unlikely to be suitable for swag-interested kids. On those occasions when I have, though, it seems I'm not atuned to what the current generation of swag-interested kids are into as it has stubbornly remained in the caches. A few of my other caches have gradually accumulated swag over the years but as best I can tell none of it ever gets taken by anyone.

If my cache container is big enough, I always put some SWAG in. I think little kids and big "kids" all like to have a bit of a rummage through the cache contents and see what's there. For me, SWAG is definitely IN, even if it is only to make the contents look attractive. 😀

Definitely go the SWAG when there is room for it. My children take care to swap something for one of our own treasures..and we often “re-SWAG” the SWAG. It just adds another piece of fun for the kid’s in geocaching land

My sister who has just started geocaching (MelNLil) loves SWAG...!
