+chubbeehubbee
I'm assuming the information in bold is the GPS location... unless I'm wrong, I don't need any help. However, the UTM confuses me. Do I create this and, if so, how.... or is it created after I have placed the geocache and submitted it for approval. Quote Link to comment
+StefandD
It's created (actually: converted) automaticly. Off-topic: I wonder if anybody ever uses this notation! 1 Quote Link to comment
+simon_cornelus
Hi chubbeehubbee, If you create a geoache you just have to enter the GPS location as you mention. The UTM is just another coordinate notation/system and gets created indead. You don't need to worry about this... Good luck with placing your geocache! Quote Link to comment

All the good old topographic maps in Australia are plotted on a UTM grid so it's useful on more remote caches when I want to have a paper-and-compass backup or to just see where the cache is on a real map. Also, for caches in New South Wales National Parks, the application form requires the coordinates in UTM. Finally because it's a one-metre grid, it makes calculating distances between locations fairly easy as long as they're close enough to be able to ignore Earth's curvature. 1 Quote Link to comment
