Updated rules from Geocaching HQ

Recommended Posts

I have it from a good source that Geocaching HQ will be announcing these updated geocaching rules shortly:

  • Signing a log is no longer required - viewing a geocache shall count as a find
  • To increase the challenge of finding a cache, exact coordinates shall no longer be required
  • If a geocacher cannot find a cache, throwdown caches shall be used to help oneself and future finders
  • Taking something from a cache shall no longer require the leaving of something in return
  • In order to save on data storage on Groundspeak servers, a log of "TFTC" shall be encouraged on all caches
  • Cache finders shall replace the cache in better hiding spots than where they were found, if possible
  • Spoiler photos shall be used to help future geocache finders in their search
  • Any rules written above this shall be considered false in commemoration of this day of April the first foolishness

Don't forget:

Geocaching will not be the same as it has been for years as geocache containers will not be important any more. They will call it "adventure" lab and it will be much more exciting compared to walking through the woods.

Oh wait.... that's a true fact. I am sorry, wrong day. :-(

To keep geocache owners in fine tune with their maintenance responsibilities, finders are encouraged to leave containers open, take up logbook space by writing big incoherent jibberish, replace the cache 50 feet from where they found it, and/or just remove any caches that they find.

Are the rules really all new? Thought that was valid before...;)

Platinum members will be able to see the final coordinates of all mystery and multi caches on the planning map. They can also purchase extra favorite points on shop geocaching.

And your Platinum membership is void as you broke the first rule of Platinum Membership.
