Hello,

Anyone can say me the meaning of tally departaments in the cathegory of Lucky7, because I read that but I am not sure that what is the meaning.

I understand that if is in 0.1 mile the multiplynis for two, but. What happend? what is the "goal" of make 9 or 18 in tally?

This is quite true - it's really just an ego thing. That said, I still yearn for that elusive 30 pointer; to date 28 has been my best.

I, too, only submit 7 per WM for the same reason.

Any Lucky 7 waymark has at least a tally of 7. But of course it is a challenge to find more than 7 departments and it is a further challenge to find all the 15 departments, and once you did that, one will try to find them within 0.1 miles. I was once lucky enough to find all the 15 different departments within 0.1 miles here. But now that I have the maximum tally of 30, I don't care that much about the tally anymore. 

 

Some will either create several Lucky 7 waymarks, while others will create one with the highest possible tally. It's just a matter of taste.

And this is why (well, one reason, at least), to this day, I remain envious of Andreas.

Another reason would be his location in Wien, a city which is a Waymarker's/history lover's dream come true. Heck, it even has Chronograms!!!

Well, as soon as the crisis is over, you should come to Austria (or any other European city with lots of history) and I'm sure you will find your 30er too (although History is just one of the 15 departments).  But I'm also sure, that it is possible in your part of the world.  I found them in Steyr and there are several reasons why I was successful: 

1. It's a very old town. That means: Lots of waymarks for History, but also for Buildings, Culture, Structures and other departments.

2. No active waymarkers there. There are still no other waymarks in Steyr apart from the ones I created years ago.

3. There are 2 rivers meeting within the city. Fortunately they not only cover the Nature department (River Confluence), but also I found a fish ladder for the Animals department and a River Gauge for Measurements.

4. Because of number one, it is usually also crowded with tourists, which makes Business, Entertainment and Recreation much easier.

5. It's a rather small town, where the center is crowded with businesses that are more widespread in bigger cities.

 

Talking about Wien: The disadvantage of Wien is, that I am almost the only one, who creates waymarks here and since I hardly visit my own waymarks (apart from special situations where f.e. a waymark has severly changed) there are no waymarks in "exotic" categories, that I can visit. On the other hand I'm happy that I hardly have any competition. When they opened the first Hard Rock Cafe in Wien in 2014, I was too slow, but at least I was fast enough for the first Apple Store in Wien.

Every time I see @Mike_bjmpost a new waymark, I am split on his situation. The whole Isle of Man to himself -- but little chance of having ANY of his waymarks visited.

Fortunately there are some waymarkers in Wien, that visit a few of my waymark every now and then.

Yes. In my city Ourense too. There are a lot of geocachers, and there are a lot of portuguesses waymarkers close, but doesn't mark the routes, and sometimes they create others in the same place. But they no mark.

WM has a lot of years but is very little practiced

Then you have to plan a visit to the Isle of Man. Then you can also visit some of our waymarks - just noticed it's country no. 2 on our "post list" ? I wouldn't have thought that...

Unfortunately we have never been there. But at least I have posted and visited a few waymarks on the Isle of Skye.
