Listing in HTML: External picture links not allowed

I haven't submitted a new listing for quite a while, so obviously some changes escaped me.

When submitting the listings of my existing caches, I used to insert photos into the listing by putting a HTML-link to picture files on my own server - like:

<img src="http://www.klaatu.de/images/livingdaylights/berlinescape2.jpg" alt="Berlin Escape 2" />

No, when trying to start a new listing, I get the message that external picture files are not accepted, albeit while updating an existing listing a few days ago, I put many new external links like the above into the listing and it went smoothly...

Now, what should I do? Submit the listing without the picture links and insert them later by changing the listing? Or upload all the needed picture files to Geocachinng.com and insert an HTML-link to their adress on the GC-Server (which seems to be an amazon server by the way)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cache page image functionality changed in a Release last September.  You can read the Release Notes here.

If there's no special reason otherwise, it is easiest to upload your cache page images to Geocaching.com.  The process is described in this Help Center article.  You can also use an approved external hosting service.  Read more details on approved domains in this Help Center article.

Note also that only JPGs are supported by uploading to the website - PNGs and GIFs can be uploaded but are converted to JPGs (though keep the original extension) and lose their native functionality (transparency and animation, plus any technical binary data associated with the formats).
