+theedoek83
In my preferences I have set my GPX version to 1.0.1 but my pocket queries are still generating GPX files in the 1.0 format instead of 1.0.1. Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something? Quote Link to comment
+GreyingJay
I wondered this too. Whenever I open a PQ in GSAK it warns me that the file isn't in 1.0.1 format, even though my preferences are set to use 1.0.1. Quote Link to comment
+GreyingJay
It definitely shows 1.0.1 on my profile. I've checked it multiple times. Quote Link to comment
+Kalkendotters
Then change it to 1.0, save and change it to 1.0.1 and save Quote Link to comment

You can check if the GPX file is using 1.0.1 by opening it up with a text editor (notepad will work fine). The second line will look like this: <gpx xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.0" creator="Groundspeak Pocket Query" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/1 http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/1/cache.xsd" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0"> Note this portion of the line: http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/1/cache.xsd That indicates that the GPX 1.0.1 schema is being used (you can open that link in a browser if you want to see what it looks like). Note also the URL with topografix.com . That's the basic GPX definition without any of the Groundspeak extensions. Quote Link to comment

Got the message a week ago and changed the setting immediatly. When I imported a freshly generated PQ it warned me again. Wasn't expecting that. On 2/1/2021 at 5:21 PM, HHL said: Sure? Please check your profile. It might have been resetted to 1.0 Yup, checked multiple times. It is still set to 1.0.1. On 1/31/2021 at 10:59 AM, HHL said: PQs are always a GPX 1.0 version. The other GPX version is 1.1. Groundspeak uses the pseudo version 1.01 (which actually is a 1.0) to differ the GPX' content (attributes). Hans That explains the reaction of GSAK. Do you happen to know why it's always v1.0? Quote Link to comment
+GreyingJay
Hi all, I appreciate the clarifications but I am still experiencing problems. My preferences are definitely set to 1.0.1. I have set them back to 1.0, saved, and then back again to 1.0.1, saved again, multiple times. Here's a screenshot. Yet, when I download a Pocket Query (both a My Finds, which I expect to stay at 1.0 based on what I've just read, and a regular PQ), this is what I get. <gpx xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.0" creator="Groundspeak Pocket Query" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0 http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/cache.xsd" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0"> My account seems to be "stuck" at 1.0. Not sure what to do next. I can't do anything in GSAK that works with attributes. Is this worth submitting a bug report? Edited February 10, 2021 by GreyingJay Quote Link to comment
+GreyingJay
Ooh thanks. I'll try that. Edit: that does work, though it takes quite a bit of time to do the extra requests. I hope I can eventually solve this 1.0.1 GPX issue. Edited February 10, 2021 by GreyingJay Quote Link to comment
+FlameCarrier
When looking to my issue, I came across this topic. I experience exactly the same. Allthough gpx is set to 1.0.1 in my personal settings, attributes are not present in the generated PQ's I know there is a workaround to get these via the API refresh call, but should be much easier if these are received with the PQ like it is supposed to work ;-) When I receive a GPX, beginning looks as follows: <gpx xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.0" creator="Groundspeak Pocket Query" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0 http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/cache.xsd" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0"> where it should contain the next to add te attributes in the generated PQ's http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/1 http://www.Groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/1/cache.xsd Anyone has any idea on the reason for this behaviour? +NanCycle
I have this issue as well; never noticed it before because I didn't care about attributes in pocket queries until I came across a Challenge cache based on Attributes and wanted them to show in My Finds to transfer to My Geocaching Profile. I first directed my question to mygeocachingprofile.com and they told me that geocaching.com had to fix it. GC doesn't have a fix for it and directed me to this thread for the GSAK workaround. Well, I don't use GSAK--as a Mac user I understand that I can't use GSAK--and I also understand that it has a significant learning curve, which I don't feel like tackling. I'm not really looking for an answer here, basically just venting. Anyway, Project-GC says I qualify. Another thought re GSAK -- I do have an old Android tablet; would GSAK work on that, if I do feel like trying? Edited October 1, 2021 by NanCycle Quote Link to comment
