A New Cache Type?

I was looking through the geocaching search bar and I noticed this. Has anyone else got this AR Cache and is it likely to be a new cache type?

During the AR experiment we explored the option of adding a new cache type but for various reasons we decided that that was not the ideal path forward. Sorry for this unexpected blast from the past.

Is there any chance creation of AR caches as Mystery Caches will be again possible in the future?

Yeah with only 459 AR cache it would have been hard to justify a new cache type versus the 30 235 Challenge cache that don't have one.

And I wished that it would say AL... Splitting Adventure Labs from the very, very different Lab Caches would be a blessing! Although I think they could be merged with the very similar Virtuals.

I have a AR where I live. Have not tried it though.
