Parachute cache

Hi there, I was wondering if there is any GC sub game or something like that that involves throwing geocaches with a GPS coordinate locker kind of mechanism that when thrown from an RC plane and lands the cache with a parachute sends the coordinates and people can go hunt it whenever it is?

It may seem like a crazy game but just wondering xd it would be cool.

If someone knows of a beacon that is able to do such a thing or any arduino based code i'll be more than happy to hear from you :)

Nothing like that.

I suppose someone could do such a thing, but have the coordinates beam back to them so they could submit the cache for publication. But they would possibly have challenges with cache permanency guidelines and/or landowner permission and/or cache saturation, if they're not careful.

Yeah, the idea is to have a clean area such as woods, possibly the best ones are comunal, and the coordinates bounce back to the owner who can post them online.

Wow came to me a better idea :) having a kind of non harmful mortar (pumped air I guess) and each time a user finds the cache they have to shoot it to the air and the coordinates change a few meters (50 m would be ideal) qnd the new coordinates are automatically uptaded on the cache page, the mortar coordinates are the visible on the map.

I'm realising I may be kinda crazy and use my not so long spare time :)

Yeah too many guidelines, could be like an activity to do for an event, launching a cache and fight to get the FTF on the event day and just leave the cache wherever it lands for future years and hope it lands on a good spot

And left exposed for any passing muggle to walk off with it.

This is the biggest issue. A randomly selected location is probably not a good location, even if placed indefinitely and on public property. I don't just mean risk of being muggled.

If I took an ammo can and tossed it into a 50 ft diameter area of palmettos or briars, is that a good cache location? I guess if you like needle-in-a-haystack hides.
