How do I become a volunteer?

I've read the Volunteer page and there isn't much information how to become  volunteer. I don't know any volunteers so I don't see how I can be nominated.

You get very involved in your local geocaching community, demonstrate a long track record of good cache ownership/findership and knowledge of the guidelines, etc. etc.

 

Basically, you get known by the volunteers.

Volunteers get to know you by interacting with you at event caches and when you submit geocaches that you've hidden.

 

I see you haven't hidden any caches yet.  After you've hidden a few dozen, your reviewer will have an opinion of your cache hiding skills, communications abilities and knowledge of the guidelines.  I especially encourage you to attend and host events, once they are allowed again.  Finally, I encourage you to find a wide variety of caches within several hours of your home, in significant numbers.
