"Fill in the grid" Button Broken on "MS Edge"?

I use MS Edge for my web browser.  When I check on my statistics and page down to the D/T grid, the green "Fill in the grid" button flashes and then disappears.  When I refresh the page using ctrl-F5, ctrl-shift -R or the refresh button on the tool bar, again the button flashes and then disappears.

Any suggestions?

Thank You, but from the announcement - going to your statistics tab, the paging down to the D/T grid you should see the button.  The announcement did not mention having to use the link you posted - IMHO, I still think its broken if you don't use the direct like you posted!

From the HQ notice.

Note: The D/T grid is part of Geocaching Advanced Statistics, a Premium member feature. Learn more.

Here’s how it works:

Visit your Statistics on Geocaching.com.

Scroll until you reach the Difficulty and Terrain grid.

Use the button below the grid to search for all D/T combinations you still have to find or click directly on a grid square to search for that specific combo.

Search results will be displayed in a list format. If you’d like to map these caches, add them to a List* and map the List. Lists sync automatically with the Geocaching® app so you can easily have access while out in the field, and download for offline use!

The final step is to find those caches and watch your grid fill in!

To clarify, there are two spots where you can access your statistics: from the Dashboard (https://www.geocaching.com/account/dashboard [new] or https://www.geocaching.com/my [old]), or from the profile (https://www.geocaching.com/p [new] or https://www.geocaching.com/profile [old]). For dev and UX reasons, the button is only available on the stats accessed from the former (although it shouldn't flash on at all in the latter, which is probably a load time issue).

Yes, I am well aware of how to access the stats page on my account - the ONLY way I can see the button using Edge is using this link: https://www.geocaching.com/my/statistics.aspx

If I go to my stats page any other way, the button flashes and then disappears.  I'm not sure how you would call it a load time issue - to fast loading? to slow loading?  My internet service is fast.  Looking at the source code I'm not seeing code to support the button.

Looking at the source code, it appears to be the same for each way to access the grid - Using the .../my/statistics.aspx the button displays, using any other approach the button disappears.

Just received an email from HQ.

Emphasis added.

"Hello Ron-

Thank you for contacting Geocaching HQ.

This new feature can actually only be used by accessing your Statistics from the dashboard, not the profile page. It will briefly appear on the Statistics tab from the profile, but it cannot be used here.

Best regards,"

This works - asked if they had plans to make it work from Profile.  Will see what they say.

To further clarify, the two pages of stats - the one accessed from the dashboard and the one accessed from the profile - are two functionally different pages. It is only the former that currently shows the grid button.

Good to see you figured it out using the dashboard.  I use edge too, with no issues.

Curious though ... Isn't your "profile" for other people ?   Why would someone else want to view caches missing from your grid ?   Thanks.   :)

Yes, I was just about to point out - the button is functional for the owner of the stats. Consider it an owner perk, as well as for premium members. It's not really a function thats relevant to display of your public profile stats.

I think it may be a nice thing for planning trips with friends. Seeing what caches they are missing in the D/T Matrix they can plan the route differently.

Currently the only way to check this out is project-gc, limited to 2 players for non-premium members.

It's still possible to search for caches not found by multiple people, and restrict to specific D/T combinations.
