Trails updates on Geocaching.com maps.

Hello. Do you know how often geocaching.com updates map trails.
Also, is it necessary to use a certain type of line on OpenStreetMap that the path is visible in the geocaching maps? Tks.

1. A few times a year, as best I can tell.

2. If editing OSM, it's important to tag correctly, rather than to get a specific result from a particular renderer.  Groundspeak's map does seem to show all trails, but often you need to scroll in a notch before they become visible.

 

If you use the Browse map (the one with the Search button), switch to "Leaflet" in preferences (a misnomer, don't ask).  On that side, there are several OSM-based options that are generally much more up-to-date, and IMHO more pleasing to the eye.

Thank you for the answer. It seems to me that for a mapping based hobby, they should update their maps more often, like once a month let's say.

As far as I saw, they do read everything, but they answer very seldom or only to major bugs reported.
