Bug in iPhone app not displaying specific cache.

Recommended Posts

Yesterday we went geocaching in our area, and I wanted to look at a T5 cache right near us. I know it's there because we've attempted it, have a WN log for it too. I was surprised to not see it, thought it could have been archived. A quick search by name online showed it's still there and active (found from memory). It doesn't show up in the browser, and it doesn't show up in the app. We checked in the browser on iPhone and on a desktop computer, as well as on the newest version of the application on both iPhone XR with iOS 14.2 and iOS 12.4.1.

To make things odder, when I copy the GC code and search for it, the cache shows up. I can even display it on the map, but once i click anywhere on the map, the cache disappears. Obviously filters are turned off.

I know this is a very specific issue, but I thought it was worthy to mention this bug somewhere. Video of the behavior is attached below.

I had the same issue with a Local cache (on Dec 4, 2020) that I found originally on the app, had marked DNF initially. When I figured it out and returned to it and wanted to log it, it had disappeared entirely from the map on my app. No blue sad smiley, no blue question mark, nothing. I don't recall if I tried searching for it by GC3CZP4 and ended up logging the find via the web interface. Today, when I saw this post, which reminded me of the issue, I looked it up the app and it now shows up again. [shrug]
