+kathdes
So frustrated trying to find and use trail maps on my new garmin Montana 680T. When using the installed TOPO and basecamp maps, trail maps would not display. I played with the zoom and details levels but no luck. And calls to garmin were not helpful. The last conversation was pretty much summed up as, download maps from online sources. I would like to hear what other Montana geocachers do to get trail maps. Most of my caching is done on local N.H. trails. I previously had a DeLorme earth mate and used TopoMaps with no problems. My geocaching buddies are usually using the phone app, again no problem with trail maps. thanks for any help or suggestions. Quote Link to comment
+Atlas Cached
You would be well served to get the new Garmin TopoActive maps for your Montana 6x0. There are also many free map sources available, but they offer no support and may have issues of thier own. See GPSrChive > Montana 6x0 > Maps for more information. Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
Have a long look at this >> http://www.gmaptool.eu/en/content/usa-northeast-osm-topo-routable before making up your mind. Has the typical OSM over-the-top level of trail information, and includes topo as well, along with properly routable road maps, if you use that feature. 1 Quote Link to comment
