Finding AL caches in any order.

The last couple AL caches had us running around in circles. We drove the same roads passing the caches we knew were closer than the app sent us to.. Tomorrow we are going to finish one we started last week. When we bring up the app it wants to take us to a particular location first, but there is another stage of the cache right at the highway exit we get off at. Will this change if we open the app as we approach the nearby cache or do we have to drive to the cache that app sends us to then drive back 4 or 5 miles back to the other to finish up. Sort of like the closest on a gps.

The Adventure creator can choose when the stages need to be visited in order (sequentially) - or in any order (you choose as the Player, based on your preference/proximity).

 

If the Adventure is linear/in sequential order... then you could in theory be standing on top of "a later stage" - and the prompt for the answer will not appear - until you have visited/correctly answered the pre-requisite stage(s). Adventures that have "grey" dots on the map are linear/sequential order experiences -- you have to find and answer the current stage (shown as an orange dot), before the next stage is unlocked..

 

If the Adventure is not linear/in sequential order - you'll know because the dots on the map are all "orange" - and you can choose the one you wish to find - in any order.
