+Tuquemeister Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Hello All, I'm hoping someone can help me with this since I have read through many forums and have not found a solution that works based off others problems. I'm sure I'm missing something and am just thickheaded. My issue is I have a Garmin 64S and I purchased a sd card for geocaches and maps specific to trips/adventures I take. I have created pocket queries and downloaded the GPX files. I put them on the SD Card through Garmin Basecamp and can see them when I have the memory card selected. I cannot figure out how to view them when I am disconnected from the computer and just using the GPS. Has anyone experienced this or can suggest a solution? Thanks and happy caching. Quote
+on4bam Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Obvious question: can you see the GPX file when you look at the garmin/gpx folder with a filemanager? Quote
+Tuquemeister Posted August 25, 2020 Author Posted August 25, 2020 Yes I can see it through the finder on my mac. I have played around with trying to add/remove the gpx files through that too. Quote
+RecipeForDisaster Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Is it in the correct folder on the SD card? That said, I have had issues with this after a crash on my 66s. The gpx files are there, but the unit displays no caches. Removing and reinstalling the card after a restart does not always fix the issue. Quote
+Atlas Cached Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 What file format is the microSD card formatted to? it must be FAT32, not exFAT, or any other file system. Quote
+Timpat Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Just to be sure, your geocache gpx file should be in the Garmin/GPX folder, either internal memory of SD card. Another thing is if the caches are far away (~110 mi) from your current location they won't appear on your 64S. Quote

They will still appear on the map page, just not in the list if they are more than 100 miles distance. Quote
+Tuquemeister Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 I checked and the format of the SD card is exFAT, so I will change that. The gpx file with the geocaches is in the GPX folder, and the caches are within 100 miles. Next step is to reformat the SD card. The topo maps that I had downloaded worked so I didn't think that was the issue. Thanks Quote
+Tuquemeister Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 I think it worked! I'll have to wait for a few days before I can confirm, but I'm 95% sure. Thanks! Quote
