etrex 20 und gpx

Wie hat der Programmierer das programmiert? Was wird beim Einschalten geladen?

Not sure what your actual issue is other than you say some geocaches do not appear to be present on the eTrex after loading them to the device?

How are you loading them?

How many are you loading?

What did you do with previously loaded Geocaches?

Have you exceeded the limit of 5000 geocaches total?

Have you checked your geocache filters to make sure they are not being filtered out?

Are the caches not displayed more than 100 miles away from your current locations? If so, they will not appear in the list.

The Garmin\GPX directory on the eTrex and microSD card are where the geocache GPX files are supposed to reside. THe device indexes any new or changed files in both locations each time it is powered on.

Much more useful information here.

8. I create waypoints with Garmin BaseCamp directly in the internal memory of the Garmin. They are also missing in the Garmin when I switch on the Garmin.

9. I have not formatted the memory card. It's in there because, for example, there is the leisure card from the Netherlands on it that I bought.

Please post screenshots of the files and file structure of your eTrex \ Garmin and eTrex'Garmin \ GPX directories

Also: What do you mean 'They are missing in the Garmin when I switch on"? Are they never displayed in the Waypoint Manager? Are they not displayed on the map page? Do you have all the Map page settings configured to display them?

6. Filter: A filter was present. I deleted it.

Nobody said to delete it, now you do not have whatever filter was present before to use if you need it in the future...

The GPX files were missing in the "Geocache" and on the map page. I did not look in the Waypoint Manager.

What is in all the other folders in your GPX directory? How many GPX files total? (all GPX files in all folders combined)

I see 590 just for the root GPX folder. If the total of all folders in the GPX directory is more than 2k files, they will not all index.

Geocaches will not be in waypoint manager, that is for waypoints only.

I can think of a couple issues that might be causing your problem.

2. I always load the geocaches via the website "Geocaching.com/play / ..." Download GPX to the internal memory (never to the memory card)

...

5. Limit: The number of caches is currently at 600

If I'm interpreting this correctly, you're downloading caches one at a time, which means there is one gpx file per geocache. These devices have a cap of 2000 gpx files that it will read. So if you've had this device for a while and have never deleted any data from it, including waypoints,  tracks, routes, and geocaches, it's possible you are at your 2000 gpx file limit.

7. My locations sometimes change for more than 100 miles.

Again, geocaches more than 100 miles from your location won't show on the list. They will be displayed on the map if you scroll to that area.

Hallo,

Interesting.

You have provided two GPX files.

The GC170WV.gpx file opens in BaseCamp as a geocache, and also includes a 'Parking' child waypoint.

The GC170W_.gpx file opens in BaseCamp as a geocache, but does not include the child waypoint.

Neither GPX file opens as a waypoint.

How was the GC170W_.gpx file created? Groundspeak does not use "_" in their cache names (so far as I am aware) ....

EDIT:

Having inspected the XML code for each GPX, I can see that the "_" file was created / edited by BaseCamp, and BaseCamp displays it as a Geocache for me. The other GPX did originate with Groundspeak and displays also as a geocache, which is expected.
