Satellite Imagery Oddities Category

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,   Lately, I've been trying to post Waymarks in some new categories and had a question about one category I've been looking at.  It is the Satellite Imagery Oddities category.  When I read the description of the category, it seems to make sense as to what it is looking for (something like this Waymark).  However, when I look at other submissions to the category, I'm seeing a lot of Waymarks that don't really seem to fit the category.  In fact, I saw a few that were items on display inside of museums.  If it is indoors, how can it be seen by a satellite?   I'm not trying to put anyone down for their Waymarks, but I am truly interested in knowing what this category is all about.   Can anyone explain what the criteria for this category are?  Thanks!

I couldn't agree with you more. Those waymarks have me scratching my head too.

Many of them don't appear to have any oddity whatsoever.

the category says the items must be a certain lists. As long as they are on the list, it is acceptable. And yes, many of those listings rally aren't visible by satellite. But, you can always decide on which items on the list YOU want to waymark, and only do ones that are really applicable.
