Possible Memory Lane and Dashboard defect ??

Recommended Posts

Hi folks … curious if this is a defect but it seems like it.

I logged a DNF on a cache on 6/4/2020 - it happens.   Got an email from the CO two days ago that it was indeed missing but he is going to Archive it and I could convert my log to a Found It.  That seemed nice so I did so.   I edited my log and converted it to a Found It and added some explanation.  HOWEVER, I notice that in my Dashboard under Latest Activity, the cache still appears as a DNF (not as a Smiley) and I do not seem to be getting credit for the find in my Memory Lane points.   When I go to the cache, it does record my having Found it and it appears as Found in my Public View - All Geocaches list.  I've waited more than 24 hours in case there is some background job that cleans these up but no change since I noticed this.

Any guidance?    The cache in question is GCNJ3J.

The Dashboard doesn't seem to pick up on edits made to logs after they have initially posted - that's been ongoing.

The other issue, with the cache Find not being counted in the Memory Lane stats, is because it only counts the initial log - in your case a DNF, not a found it.  To correct it, you need to delete the log, and re-log it as a Find. Oor not - there is plenty of time to earn all the Memory Lane souvenirs despite this one not being counted.  It's up to you how to "correct" it. It may or may not be a bug or defect, but it has been the case for previous promos too - you need to delete the initial, "erroneous" log and re-log as a Find before it gets counted.

What she said. It has to be a fresh found it log.
