Reviving "Virtual" caching in these "new normal" times

I've read a couple threads about Covid-19 and caching, and it got me to thinking:

 

With all of this talk of social distancing and PPE, would there be a legitimate case for cachers to create virtual caches? 

 

What are your thoughts?

Great question! Ironically, people are finding our caches more than ever. I think to get out of isolation and finding a safe reason to.

Groundspeak already said they aren't gonna allow caches or events to be logged virtually, 

Placing a virtual cache still requires someone to go outside and find the spot, and set things up.

When folks can do that,  and many are now   (we had dozens of caches placed during the virus...), then there's no real need for one.    

Soon we can all cache like "normal".     Hopefully I am tomorrow...

Virtual caching (forum thread title) and Virtual caches (a type of geocache) are not the same thing.

  4000 V2 Virtual caches were awarded. I see 1764 active published. I'd bet a few have been archived, and some won't happen, but there are still at least 2000+ to come.

Do an adventure lab.  It's the same thing but completely unregulated.
