MissMoppett Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 I have recently acquired an Etrex 10. One of the most vital functions is surely the ability to faithfully follow a downloaded track but mine is invariably 45 - 90 deg. out. I have set the heading to point up, set go to line Course, enabled WAAS but it very rarely points on track. It's accurate on Map View but the heading is way out. The compass is within 5 deg. So is this normal? If so it's very disappointing. Quote
+Atlas Cached Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 The eTrex 10 does not have a compass. You must be moving for it to determine your actual heading. More Info. 1 Quote
robertlipe Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 If the unit is navigating and static navigation is important to you, you can pair it with a common $10 compass. Mentally spin the device so that "N" matches magnetic north on your compass, and the destination arrow will be "right". Quote
