New Series Multiple Authors

If it's a series, then each cache in the series can be owned by a separate account, and a public bookmark list can include all of the caches in the series, regardless of which account owns each cache.

(This is in addition to whatever you do with the "Placed by" field, as described by Keystone.)

What's the best way to do a series when you have multiple authors?

Let's see of I understand you correct:

They want to put out some caches (how many?), probably traditional caches?

Will it be a (power) trail with the caches along the same (hiking?) path? So that you can get them all in one tour?

If that's correct they should put out the caches altogether. They should do the hike (or whatever) and place a cache whenever they like (distance bigger than 0.1 miles to the next) and find a nice hide (!). Everyone of them can take the coordinates of each cache so if they average the coordinates with several GPS devices (or smartphones) they might get more accurate!

In the end they decide who will own which cache (they can decide while putting out the cache) and than they use their own account to list the cache.

As they are several owners it is nice if the caches have individual listings and individual names - each of them can write his (or her) own description about the cache.

I don't see much of a problem here. :-)

Here's something not everyone knows:

When you are doing your cache page, where it says "a cache by..." you can make up a name. If you click on it it will take you to the account owner, but in the meantime you could list each cache as "by" individual scouts. That's if you prefer to keep them all under one account but still give individuals credit.

At least once I have made up a name for a cache hidden on April Fools Day.
